The National Comedy Center

Everyone loves to laugh but making people laugh is a serious business, and one with a long and fascinating history. The National Comedy Center, located in Jamestown, NY,  tells the story of this history through over 50 immersive exhibits. The popular and immersive museum opened in 2018, inspired by legendary comedian Lucille Ball.  Lucille Ball was born and raised in Jamestown and dreamed of making it a destination for the celebration of comedy. A vision now realized through this highly rated and captivating local attraction.

The National Comedy Center

Visitors to The National Comedy Center will find a treasure trove of humor history, from early vaudeville to today’s funniest comedians. The 37,000-square-foot facility engages visitors with more than 50 interactive exhibits. An immersive exploration of comedy acts, radio shows, movies, TV, cartoons, comic strips, stand-up, and more.

Popular exhibits include Comedy Karaoke, where you can perform a classic comedy routine. Laugh Battle has you competing for laughs with friends and family. Act the Part lets you put yourself into classic TV shows. Late Night Studio Camera puts you behind the camera for legendary late night television shows. You can also Draw a Cartoon, flip through film and television scripts at the Virtual Writer’s Desk, and so much more.

Comedy Karaoke at The National Comedy Center

The Center also has special exhibits like Johnny Carson: The Immersive Experience, Hosted by Jimmy Fallon. This unique presentation celebrates the legendary “King of Late Night” with 30 digital projection screens and a holographic Jimmy Fallon.

The National Comedy Center also operates the nearby Lucy Desi Museum. This wonderful museum honoring the “First Couple of Comedy” explores their lives and legacy with original costumes, props, awards, and more. Very much a worthwhile stop for fans of humor and classic television.
